I am currently writing this right before I do my 1,667 words for the day. Yesterday was a great start and I am excited for what the month will bring.
The start was strong, even though I probably made numerous mistakes and won’t see them until the end of the month, but nevertheless, I feel great. Today I am starting with an open mind, a sore hand from hours of bookmark making (more news on that to come), and a wine glass full of coconut water. Lily is beside me with her favorite toy so I know I won’t have to face the blank document alone.
So for today’s update, I would like to welcome everyone who is daring to take this one with me and let you in on how I write for NaNoWriMo.
For my novel, I have a google doc set up with a table of contents where I will be putting each new chapter that I create this month so I can keep things relatively organized. Then, to really inspire the words to just flow onto the page, I open up this handy website where I can block everything away and focus simply on the words. Each day I have a goal of where I want my characters to be, so that usually helps me to not only move the story along but also to write more than I actually need to.
Sorry if this update is unorganized and an overall mess, I still have much to do, but I didn’t want to let that prevent me from posting something today.
What is your novel going to be about? I would love to talk about it and hear your plans for NaNoWriMo!
