So I have been adding things to my daily routine in order to better use the time that I have each day.  I haven’t added much, but already I have been spending less time on video games and more time working towards making my dream of being an author come true.

Youtube Channel

This is something that I have thought about doing for a while, and I’m really glad that I have made the decision to go through with it. My first video will be up sometime in October. I had so much fun filming and editing and even though I’m not the best at it, I know that I can only improve as I continue to do it on a regular basis.

So far I feel like I have another creative outlet and it’s been fun just messing around with it. I look forward to more in the future and if you are interested in checking it out, click here.

New Instrument

I have been chosen to receive my father’s guitar, and it is amazing. It’s about 40 years old, but it looks as if I just picked it up from the music store yesterday. After he helped me put on the new strings, I was free to do whatever I wanted with it.

So, with the help of some guitar books that I purchased in December of 2017, I have just now gotten around to practicing on a daily basis. Right now all my fingers can take is about 15-20 minutes per day, but I have already seen improvement. I’m hoping to start doing guitar covers in about a year or so when I become more experienced.

Overall I’ve had a lot of fun learning something new, and even though I can’t play very well, I still feel like my stress melts away when I am practicing at the end of the day.

Working Out

This is the last change that I have made to my routine, and it is definitely the toughest. Growing up with a heart condition robbed most of my opportunities to be a student-athlete, so when I got my new heart valve I was a little upset that it was too late for me to do any sort of sports. Also, I was sorely out of shape.

Because of that, working out was a bit of a rude awakening, but I am glad that I have finally made the effort. I’ve been working out a consistent basis (and eating healthier) for the past month, and I feel amazing. Already my body feels so much better and I feel like my mental health has also benefitted from this change.
